Job summary

Bain & Company, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Enterprise Data Architecture to lead the vision, strategy, and results of the firm’s data architecture function.

You will partner with senior business and technology leaders to set technical direction and ensure data quality, governance, and security across the firm. You will guide a team of senior architects, drive the enterprise data platform strategy (Databricks, Glean, Palantir), and align priorities with Bain’s data and AI ambitions.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture and engineering.
• Track record of defining and delivering multi-year enterprise architecture roadmaps and scalable data platforms.
• Deep experience in data modeling and related architecture disciplines across structured and unstructured data.
• Experience leading architecture and/or data modeling organizations through senior leaders and developing senior technical talent.
• Experience directing distributed engineering teams and managing external technology partners.
• Demonstrated experience advising senior stakeholders and driving adoption of standards at scale.
• Visionary technologist able to translate business strategy into an enterprise data vision and roadmap.
• Persuasive influencer with senior leaders across functions.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision and multi-year roadmap for the firm’s enterprise data architecture and platforms.
• Own target-state architecture, standards, and technology direction for scalable, secure, governed data capabilities.
• Make architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, risk, and long-term flexibility; define reference architectures.
• Provide senior technical leadership for internal teams and external delivery partners.
• Partner with governance, security, privacy, legal, and technology leaders to embed requirements in architecture.
• Build alignment among senior leaders and drive adoption of standards across regions and functions.
• Identify opportunities to apply data and AI capabilities and integrate into the data foundation.
• Serve as advisor on architecture decisions and strategic trade-offs.
