Job summary

Bain & Company is seeking a Vice President of Enterprise Data Architecture to lead the vision, strategy, and results of the firm’s enterprise data architecture function. You will partner with senior business and technology leaders to shape data strategy and own the target-state architecture across platforms and regions.

The role drives architecture standards, governance, and AI-enabled data capabilities while guiding internal engineering teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture and engineering
• Track record of defining multi-year enterprise architecture roadmaps
• Deep experience in data modeling and architecture disciplines
• Experience leading architecture or data modeling groups
• Experience directing distributed engineering teams and managing external partners
• Advising and influencing senior stakeholders across functions
• Visionary technology strategist translating business strategy into data architecture
• Expert knowledge of data architecture, modeling, and modern data platforms
• Persuasive influencer with senior leaders across functions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to advocate architecture decisions

Responsibilities

• Set the vision and multi-year roadmap for enterprise data architecture, platforms, and capabilities
• Own the target-state data architecture and governance standards
• Make major architecture and platform decisions balancing speed, cost, risk, and long-term flexibility
• Provide senior technical leadership to internal teams and delivery partners
• Collaborate with governance, security, privacy, legal, and technology leaders to embed data controls
• Drive alignment and adoption of standards across regions and departments
• Identify high-value data/AI opportunities and lead integration into the data foundation
• Advise senior leaders on strategic data architecture trade-offs and investment priorities
• Manage relationships with strategic data platform partners and benchmark against peers
• Lead the Data Modeling Center of Excellence and enforce enterprise standards
