Job summary

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. in Atlanta (hybrid) seeks a VP, Senior Underwriting Manager for the E&S Property team to lead and mentor a regional underwriting unit. You will drive performance, broker engagement, and portfolio management while maintaining market awareness and strong technical underwriting knowledge.

You will travel ~25% to support the team and brokers. The role requires a Bachelor’s with 10+ years in underwriting or 20+ in related areas, CPCU preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years in underwriting or risk management within Commercial Insurance, or Bachelor’s Degree with 20+ years in underwriting/claims.
Experience in E&S Property and in managing and developing underwriting talent.
2+ years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

Develop, coach, and manage a high-performing regional Property underwriting team.
Oversee regional performance including new business, policy retention, rate/tiering, and portfolio actions.
Maintain broker relationships, manage underwriter referrals, and stay aligned with market changes.
Travel as necessary to support the team and broker relationships (approx. 25%).
Foster a diversified, dynamic team culture and demonstrate strong technical underwriting acumen.
