Job summary

CVS Health is recruiting a VP, Digital Engineering to lead cross‑functional engineering for the Health100 platform, including digital identity, payments, AI solutions, and solutions engineering. This is a strategic, high‑impact role partnering with Product to co‑own the roadmap, architecture, and delivery across a large enterprise scale.

Qualifications

15+ years in digital software development and engineering
10+ years in a technology leadership position, managing financials and goals
Hands-on software engineering or architecture early in career with ongoing design fluency
Experience leading multiple engineering teams totaling 100+ resources
Experience in coding, architecting, and leading large teams across time zones and cultures
Partnering with Product to shape roadmap and capability strategy, not just backlog execution
Proven ability to drive fast, high‑quality execution with iterative delivery
Deep expertise in software architecture, APIs, microservices, cloud‑native platforms, and DevSecOps
Experience designing highly available, scalable cloud architectures
Experience building enterprise transaction-based systems focused on security and reliability
Ownership of production reliability at enterprise scale with robust observability
Experience with digital identity and account management systems (OAuth 2.0/OIDC)
Experience with digital payments systems and PCI‑DSS compliance
Experience delivering AI/ML/Generative AI solutions in enterprise software
Experience with LLM evaluation, RAG, and agent orchestration with governance
Experience supporting high-traffic digital platforms (1M+ visits/day)
Ability to translate enterprise strategy into system-level deliverables
Thrives in fast-paced, changing environments with ambiguity
Track record of innovation and continuous improvement
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with executive stakeholders

Responsibilities

Partner with Product to define and shape Health100 roadmap and capabilities
Lead cross-cutting engineering capabilities: identity, payments, AI solutions, and solutions engineering
Own digital account and profile capabilities, including identity, authentication, and privacy controls
Own digital payments engineering across Health100 with PCI-DSS focus
Lead Solutions Engineering to translate requirements into scalable designs and reusable frameworks
Lead AI Solutions engineering for Generative AI and agentic capabilities
Own production reliability: define SLOs/SLAs, incident response, and observability
Drive rapid iteration, lean processes, and pragmatic build/buy decisions
Collaborate with CVS Health leaders to ensure integration with adjacent platforms
Manage and develop a large engineering team, fostering ownership and delivery mindset
Track financial, operational, and OKRs across the organization
