Job summary

MTA Construction & Development seeks a Vice President Deputy Project Executive to drive complex capital programs, including the Second Avenue Subway. You will lead project delivery, mentor staff, manage contracts, and coordinate with operating agencies to ensure safety, schedule, and budget alignment.

Ideal candidates have 16+ years of related experience, 10+ years in management, and professional credentials (PMP/CCM preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
• Minimum of sixteen (16) years of related experience; at least ten (10) years in a management or supervisory role.
• Licensure desirable; PMP and CCM certifications preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital project delivery to ensure safety, schedule, budget and contract compliance.
• Mentor and develop staff; coordinate project activities through close-out.
• Monitor performance against baselines and mitigate risks and issues.
• Coordinate with multiple teams, contractors, consultants, and operating agencies.
• Ensure adherence to standards, procedures, and quality management.
• Review invoices, allocate expenditures, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Lead change management and drive continuous improvement in delivery.
