Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a Vice President Deputy Project Executive – Second Avenue Subway to lead capital delivery within the Delivery/Second Avenue Subway unit. You will oversee complex projects to meet safety, schedule, and budget requirements, coordinating with C&D, operating agencies, and external partners.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, 16+ years of related experience, including 10+ years in management, PMP/ CCM preferred, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
• Must have a minimum of sixteen (16) years of related experience.
• Must have a minimum of ten (10) years in a management or supervisory role and/or program/project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• PMP and CCM Certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor staff to deliver complex capital projects.
• Coordinate project activities through close-out.
• Monitor performance against baselines and pursue improvements.
• Identify issues and risks and ensure timely resolution.
• Present recommendations to senior management for critical issues.
• Coordinate with MTA staff and external stakeholders to support delivery.
