Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Ohio is seeking a CDL bus driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for public school students to and from LifeWise sites. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, with a clean driving record and a commitment to the LifeWise faith.

Responsibilities include transporting students and volunteers, obeying traffic laws, inspecting the bus, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and supporting LifeWise classroom activities as arranged with the director.

Qualifications

• CDL license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required.
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• CDL license continuously for past three years.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in last five years.
• Pass background check and drug/alcohol testing as required.
• Yearly underwriter-approved Physician's Statement for medical conditions.
• Age 21-80.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director.
