Alchemist Community Development Corp. in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Volunteer Manager to recruit, train and supervise a growing volunteer base of 300+ volunteers who contribute over 800 hours monthly.

This role supports all departments and reports to the Food Access Director, with opportunities to expand programs and partnerships. Under the supervision of the Food Access Director, you will develop volunteer strategies, manage records with GetConnected by Galaxy, and advocate across the

Qualifications

• High proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience in volunteer management.
• Ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
• Experience with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies.
• Provide support and guidance to volunteers to ensure their success.
• Coordinate and lead volunteer orientation and training programs.
• Evaluate and report on the success of volunteer programs and initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation, compliance, and hours with GetConnected by Galaxy.
• Serve as the organization’s key advocate for volunteer opportunities across all departments.
• Maintain and manage relationships with CSU Sacramento, UC Davis College Corps, and other similar internship programs as appropriate.
• Expand corporate volunteer program.
• Develop and maintain volunteer management best practices.
• Identify and address any challenges faced by volunteers or the program.
• Work with departments to identify opportunities for volunteer engagement.
• Develop and manage the volunteer budget.
