Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled professional to monitor and troubleshoot the VOD ingestion pipeline with a focused, collaborative team. You will act as the subject matter expert for supply chain operations, reviewing content against tight deadlines and coordinating with partners to ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with video codecs, encoding, XML/JSON, and captions, plus strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Background in video or film is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of video codecs and encoding.
• Familiarity with video streaming, specifically HLS.
• Understanding of closed captions and subtitles.
• Understanding of XML and/or JSON structure.
• Knowledge of industry standard delivery specifications (Cable Labs / MovieLabs).
• Experience supporting a VOD workflow or Digital Asset Management system.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to track large projects.
• Attention to detail and strong multi-tasking.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Spanish language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot the VOD ingestion pipeline with a small team.
• Serve as technical expert for supply chain operations.
• Review audiovisual content against strict deadlines.
• Coordinate with external partners to meet delivery deadlines.
• Research and normalize metadata for assets.
• Create and track remediation tickets to completion.
• Provide technical guidance for A/V content issues (XML, timed text).
• Monitor encoding pipeline health and provide support.
• Identify and triage incidents, escalating promptly.
• Update documentation and train team members on procedures.
• Report overall ingest health to senior staff.
