Job summary

The Volume is seeking a Media Management & Distribution Specialist to oversee media preparation, transcoding, metadata structuring, and distribution across streaming and OTT platforms. You will build and maintain internal DAM platforms, MRSS feeds, and S3 content sharing, ensuring files meet platform specs and end-to-end delivery workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in digital media operations, content distribution, or OTT workflows.
• Experience managing multiple DAM or CMS platforms for media asset management.
• Strong understanding of MRSS, RSS, XML structure, and metadata standards with attention to detail.
• Hands-on transcoding using FFmpeg and cloud-based transcoding services like AWS Elemental MediaConvert or Mux.
• Familiarity with video codecs (H.264, H.265), containers (MP4), and audio formats (AAC).
• Experience delivering content via cloud platforms (AWS, CDNs).
• Knowledge of streaming formats (HLS, DASH) and OTT platforms (Roku, Apple TV, Android TV).
• Experience with APIs for content ingestion and distribution.
• Basic scripting (Python, Bash, Node.js).
• Strong troubleshooting and QA skills for media workflows.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and validate MRSS feeds for distribution to streaming partners.
• Launch and maintain S3 platforms and buckets for external distribution partners.
• Prepare and manage media assets including video, audio, images, and metadata.
• Transcode media files into platform formats using FFmpeg or cloud services.
• Ensure media meet platform specifications (codecs, bitrates, resolutions).
• Manage content ingestion and publishing workflows across OTT and internal DAM platforms.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and troubleshoot ingestion or playback issues with partners.
• Maintain metadata within feeds and CMS systems.
• Optimize media storage and archival systems across the network.
• Monitor feed health and validate XML structure to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, content, and partner teams to streamline workflows.
