Job summary

Vallen Distribution seeks a Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator I to deliver and manage inventory at customers' sites. You will handle physical and administrative tasks for storing, distributing, and fulfilling orders for merchandise, materials, and equipment.

Responsibilities include safe driving, ensuring shipment accuracy, organizing customer spaces, and supporting the VMI process from warehouse to site. This role requires attention to detail and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year experience or training in warehouse, inventory counting or delivery.
• Valid driver's license that complies with Vallen's standards.
• Willingness to learn and work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature.
• Must be a self-starter with the willingness to work with supervision.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Demonstrated ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner.
• Possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution.
• Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with customers, co-workers and management.
• Willing to gain knowledge of company products.
• Ability to represent Vallen in a professional manner projecting a Winning Team approach to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Drive company commercial vehicles to transport and deliver goods to designated locations in a safe manner and in compliance with all State and Federal DOT standards and regulations.
• Ensure accuracy of shipments to the customer.
• Assist with the VMI customer space/placement and stock product in the customer's designated area.
• Follow the customer order from pick-up at Vallen's warehouse/DC to delivery and setup at customer site.
• Take customer spot buy orders and relay to CSR or Account Rep.
• Scan barcodes at customer site to generate orders.
• Perform VMI functions at vending points of use areas including communication with supervisor and sales team.
• Monitor min/max, reorder point/quantity and report observations to management.
• Recommend changes to customer inventory levels based on usage.
• Maintain up-to-date barcode labels and advise when new labels are needed.
• Assist in annual inventory counts on consigned items.
• Present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and managers.
• Maintain 5S in VMI areas.
• Perform other duties as requested.
