Job summary

Methodist Hospital Northeast is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT PRN) to deliver high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role involves evaluating patient status, following physician orders, and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize treatment plans.

The ideal candidate will have an approved respiratory therapy program graduate credential, active Texas licensure, and NBRC credentials (RRT or grandfathered CRT).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Current Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• NBRC credential: RRT or grandfathered CRT before July 1, 2002.
• BLS upon hire; ACLS within 90 days; PALS or NRP within 90 days if required by department.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up respiratory care devices (ventilators, gas administration, aerosol generators).
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation and CPR support.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and interpret results.
• Follow physician orders and evaluate treatment requirements (mode, duration, dosage).
• Monitor patient response via vital signs, ABG, auscultation, SpO2, and EtCO2.
