Job summary

Concentra in the United States is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to deliver routine medical care and testing under clinician supervision while supporting front desk operations and referral management. You will ensure a welcoming, efficient patient experience in a fast-paced center.

The role requires handling vital signs, rapid screenings, clerical duties, HIPAA compliance, and ongoing training to uphold high quality care and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred or 1 year direct patient care experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Experience with occupational medicine requirements a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, and assist with testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (flu, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Triage, prepare procedure setup, wear PPE as required.
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician orders.
• Maintain inventory, clean rooms, and stock exam rooms.
• Document accurately and protect patient privacy (HIPAA).
• Greet patients, check in/out, manage referrals and communications.
