Job summary

Concentra is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic setting. The Medical Support Specialist performs routine procedures under supervision and assists with front and back office duties to ensure an excellent patient experience.

You will be involved in preparing patients, supporting clinicians, and handling administrative tasks while upholding HIPAA and safety guidelines. The role requires compassion, reliability, and teamwork across the center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, OR at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant, OR military medical specialist experience (must meet credentials)
• State requirements and applicable regulations must be met for employment in the state of work

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Prepare patients for examinations including vitals and ancillary testing
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.)
• Assist providers during examination and treatment
• Triage emergent patients and manage routine procedures
• Prepare and assist clinician with procedure setup and injury care
• Apply dressings and splints as ordered
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician orders
• Maintain supplies, rooms, and equipment
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient privacy
• Greet patients, check in/out, and manage front office tasks
• Document accurately in all systems
• Attend staff meetings and training
• Maintain a neat and orderly facility
