Job summary

Concentra is hiring a Medical Support Specialist to be a vital part of the patient care team. You will perform routine medical and testing procedures under clinician supervision and support in registration and referral management to deliver high‑quality care and an excellent patient experience.

The role requires efficient, accurate one‑on‑one patient care in a fast‑paced environment, with responsibilities spanning testing, exam preparation, documentation, and front/back office duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, OR at least one year of direct patient care as a medical assistant, OR military medical specialist experience (must meet state credentials).
• Customarily has at least six months or more of medical assistant experience.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
• Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for exams including vitals and ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Triage emergent patients and perform routine medical procedures as ordered.
• Prepare clinician with procedure setup and injury care.
• Apply dressings and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician instructions.
• Maintain and calibrate medical devices and equipment; document accordingly.
• Handle front/back office duties and ensure proper documentation and HIPAA compliance.
