Job summary

Concentra is hiring a Medical Support Specialist to be a vital member of the patient care team. You will perform routine medical procedures under supervision and support registration, referral management, and patient flow in a fast-paced facility.

The role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care and excellent patient experience. You will work with clinicians and center leadership to ensure quality service and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of vocational/technical/business school or equivalent.
• Externship completion preferred, or at least 1 year of direct patient care as MA; state requirements apply.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for examinations, including vitals, vaccines, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiograms and respirator fit testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Manage front and back office duties, documentation, and patient flow.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
• Answer calls, check in/out patients, greet patients, and distribute results/paperwork.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
