Job summary

Concentra is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to join our patient care team. You will perform a variety of routine medical procedures under direct supervision, support in front-office tasks, and help ensure an excellent patient experience through welcoming and professional care.

The role requires handling DOT testing, vital signs, phlebotomy, rapid screenings, and assisting clinicians. Strong attention to detail, communication, and compliance with HIPAA are essential.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of medical assistant experience
• Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology
• Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Prepare patients for physical examinations and ancillary testing
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose)
• Assist providers during examinations and treatment
• Triage emergent patients and perform routine medical procedures
• Prepare and assist clinician with procedure setup and injury care
• Apply bandages and splints; dispense medications as ordered
• Maintain equipment, rooms, and supplies; calibrate devices
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and proper record keeping
• Greet patients, handle front-office duties, and answer calls
