Job summary

The Museum of Science in Boston is seeking a Sales Representative to welcome guests, connect them with offerings, and support membership growth. This role extends from the box office to other cash handling locations, ensuring a high-quality museum experience.

You will sell tickets, memberships, and add-ons, while maintaining knowledge of offerings and ticketing systems to keep transactions accurate and efficient. Strong guest service and capacity awareness are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support Museum initiatives that promote a welcoming, comfortable environment for guests and colleagues.
• Help visitors plan their experience by selling tickets, memberships, and other offerings; meet sales goals by proactively recommending memberships, automatic renewal, and additional experiences.
• Maintain knowledge of Museum offerings, products, and ticketing systems to ensure accurate, efficient transactions, resolve issues, and handle cash and credit card payments responsibly.
• Deliver courteous, and responsive guest service by listening to needs, resolving concerns, seeking assistance when needed, and representing the Museum’s service standards.
• Support daily Visitor Services operations, including visitor flow and capacity control, ticket scanning and validation, and school and group check-in, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assist with implementation of operational procedures and Museum initiatives that promote efficient guest flow, appropriate capacity, accurate admissions, and a smooth visitor experience.
• Participate in Museum OKR and training programs, as applicable, and perform other related duties as assigned in support of Visitor Services and the Museum’s mission.
