Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester is seeking a Customer Service Information Guest Services role. You will greet patients and families as they enter the hospital, provide service information, and support patient flow and visiting procedures.

The position focuses on clear communication, fast problem-solving, and teamwork with hospital departments to ensure patient and visitor satisfaction throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service experience (1+ year) and solid communication skills.
• Phone and computer skills; ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Familiarity with basic medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously; provide accurate information about services.
• Provide basic patient status information, visiting times, and procedures.
• Distribute directions to facilities and assist with patient security and confidentiality.
• Assist with visitor management, screening, data entry, and location tracking.
• Access daily patient schedules and provide appointment information as needed.
• Handle high volume of calls from patients, visitors, vendors, and staff.
• Arrange taxis or other transportation as necessary.
• Monitor lobby activities and coordinate with Security as needed.
• Arrange escorts for patients and visitors to assigned areas.
• Distribute PPE to staff, patients, and visitors.
