Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Visitor Screening Ambassador to greet patients and visitors, provide accurate information, and support patient flow throughout the hospital in Central Massachusetts. The role involves coordinating with multiple departments to ensure a positive patient and visitor experience.

Responsibilities include handling calls, sharing visiting hours, guiding patients to services, and assisting with security practices.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously, providing accurate information about services.
• Provide basic patient status information and visiting times.
• Distribute directions to UMMMC facilities.
• Ensure patient security and confidentiality procedures are followed.
• Assist with the visitor management program including screening and data documentation.
• Access daily patient schedules and sites of service to inform patients.
• Handle a high volume of calls regarding patients, visitors, vendors and staff.
• Arrange transportation as needed.
• Monitor lobby visitor activity and coordinate with Security.
• Escort patients and visitors to assigned areas.
• Distribute PPE to staff, patients and visitors.
