The University of Iowa Health Care—Safety and Security is hiring a Clerk III to support the visitor management process and ensure its smooth operation. The role uses Epic and office software to check in visitors, assist with wayfinding, and de-escalate situations with patients and visitors in a busy hospital environment.

The position is located at information desks, entrances, or administration offices with a 1st shift (0700-1530), 100% time.

Formación

• Any combination of clerical office experience, undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment.

Responsabilidades

• Performs administrative support to shift supervisors including scheduling, overseeing Safety ambassadors, communicating any changes in policies or procedures, tracking compliances, attendance and other duties as assigned
• Ensure all entrances are running smoothly
• Maintaining and managing non-patient related visitor and vendor list
• Check in visitors, assist with wayfinding, and de-escalate situations with patients and visitors
• Knowledge of office routines and functions sufficient to relay factual information to visitors and telephone callers and to direct communications
• Knowledge of institutional and unit policies, processes, and forms
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public
• Ability to collect data, keep accurate records and prepare reports
• Ability to organize and proritize multiple tasks
• Ability to exercise functional supervision over employees
