Job summary

The University of Iowa Quick Care Clinics are seeking an Hourly/PRN Clerk III to support front desk operations across four Iowa City locations. You will check patients in and out, handle high volume phone calls, and enter demographic data into the EPIC system.

This role requires customer service experience, the ability to stand for long periods, and reliable attendance. Onboarding includes attending an EPIC training session every other Friday from 8am to 12pm.

Qualifications

• Proficient in basic computer functions.
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Experience with customer service.
• Pass a Criminal Background Check.
• Experience with direct patient contact.
• Must be available to work at all four locations.
• Need to be available to attend one EPIC training course as part of onboarding. This is offered every other Friday from 8AM-12PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for front desk reception duties for checking in and checking out the patient.
• Includes high volume public contact, use of multi-tasking skills, and the ability to answer multi-line phones on a consistent basis involving internal and external customers.
• Copying/scanning/uploading patient documentation into electronic medical record.
• Gathers demographic data information and enters into the hospital EPIC system.
• Clinical site support for patient care.
• Communicates clearly.
• Ability to stand for longer periods of time.
• May work EPIC work queues.
• Other duties as assigned.
