Job description

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Safety and Security is seeking a Clerk III to perform work related to the visitor management process and ensuring that function is operating effectively. Duties will involve the use of Epic, computer terminals, and/or a variety of software and conventional office equipment. This position will be located at the information desks, specified entrances, and / or administration offices.

Duties And Responsabilities

• Performs administrative support to shift supervisors including scheduling, overseeing Safety ambassadors, communicating any changes in policies or procedures, tracking compliances, attendance and other duties as assigned
• Ensure all entrances are running smoothly
• Maintaining and managing non-patient related visitor and vendor list
• Check in visitors, assist with wayfinding, and de-escalate situations with pateints and visitors.
• Knowledge of office routines and functions sufficient to relay factual information to visitors and telephone callers and to direct communications
• Knowledge of institutional and unit policies, processes, and forms.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public.
• Ability to collect data, keep accurate records and prepare reports.
• Ability to organize and proritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to exercise functional supervision over employees.
