Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Newtown, PA is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors by performing preliminary testing and measurements, preparing patients for exams, and ensuring a smooth visit flow. You will learn to operate pretest equipment and assist during eye examinations.

No optical experience is required; comprehensive training and tools will be provided. Some weekend and evening shifts are required, with opportunities for growth and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about optical industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to Doctor and staff during appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures they will be exposed to.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team to provide seamless patient experience.
