Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for exams, including preliminary testing and measurements. No optical experience is required as training will be provided.

The role involves handling patient flow, ensuring comfort, and contributing to a high-quality vision care experience. The position reports to the Office General Manager with some weekend/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personable and patient; comfortable with screening processes.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about optical industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures they will encounter.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
