Job summary

MyEyeDr. seeks an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for visits, performing preliminary tests, and taking measurements.

No optical experience is required as training and tools will be provided to learn the industry and deliver a best-in-class patient experience. This role often requires some weekend and evening shifts and reports to the Office General Manager, collaborating with the doctor(s) and team to ensure a smooth patient journey and high-quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand basic math.
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening process.
• Willingness to learn about the optometry industry, products and services.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document existing conditions and medical history to prep for exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and office staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team members to provide a seamless patient experience.
