Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care, matching frames to prescriptions, lifestyles, and personal style. You will measure, dispense, and educate patients, using precise tools and software to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.

You will enter prescriptions into the EHR, discuss insurance benefits and warranties, and deliver a seamless patient experience while maintaining high quality and care standards.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor; sales experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments; measure and dispense.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR and ensure documentation is attached to charts.
• Keep informed on product lines, warranties, and insurance coverage; communicate order status.
• Adjust eyewear for fit and comfort; perform repairs as needed; educate on care and warranty.
• Inspect final products for quality; maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.
