Job summary

VisionWorks in Hyannis, MA is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for onsite and remote examinations, perform pre-exam tests, and explain each step of the process.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, assist with remote eye exams, document results in EMR, and help transition patients to the retail team with doctor recommendations. Training provided, flexible travel to other locations.

Qualifications

• One year of related optical/healthcare experience.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Medical office professionalism required.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and medical history data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results.
• Explain preliminary testing to patients and document results in EMR.
• For remote appointments, assist patients through remote eye exams and document results.
• Transition patients to the retail associate after exams and relay doctor recommendations.
