Job summary

Prudential Financial’s Long-Term Disability Core Team seeks an experienced Disability Claims Specialist to serve as a technical expert and consultant on complex claims. The role guides claim professionals, supports the Team Lead, and promotes high-quality outcomes while ownership remains with the assigned professional.

The position requires deep knowledge of LTD policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations, and strong coaching skills to enhance decision quality and block health.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Long-Term Disability claim management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of LTD policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations.
• Ability to independently analyze complex or high-risk claim scenarios.
• Proven success coaching claim professionals and providing actionable feedback.

Responsibilities

• Serve as LTD technical expert for complex claim management and guidance.
• Provide policy interpretation, medical/vocational considerations, and benefit decisions.
• Coach professionals to strengthen critical thinking and claim quality.
• Analyze claim activity to identify trends and risks for coaching or improvement.
• Support training and development of claim staff.
