Job summary

Prudential Financial is seeking an experienced Disability Claims Specialist to serve as a Long Term Disability technical expert and consultative resource for the team. You will guide claim professionals, provide coaching and feedback, and help prioritize actions to maintain claim block health while ownership remains with the claim professional.

The role requires deep knowledge of LTD policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations, and the ability to analyze complex or high-risk claims.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of long-term disability claim management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of LTD policy provisions and medical/vocational considerations.
• Ability to analyze high-risk claims and recommend sound strategies.
• Experience coaching claim professionals and providing actionable feedback.
• Ability to interpret claim data and identify trends to improve block health.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Long Term Disability technical expert for complex claims.
• Provide policy interpretation, medical/vocational guidance, and claim strategy.
• Coach team members to strengthen critical thinking and decision quality.
• Offer timely feedback to improve execution and outcomes.
• Analyze claim activity to identify risks and opportunities for coaching or process improvement.
• Monitor claim block health with Team Lead and prioritize corrective actions.
• Support technical training and knowledge sharing for claim professionals.
• Consult on high-risk or complex claims with recommended approaches.
• Adapt coaching and priorities to evolving team and business needs.
