Job summary

Axon is hiring for a Video Electrical Engineering Sustaining role in the Scottsdale area. You will maintain and improve electronics designs behind Axon’s in-market video products, from body-worn cameras to in-vehicle systems, ensuring reliability and regulatory readiness.

You will work with cross-functional teams to address obsolescence, perform hands-on debugging, and drive design changes that keep products competitive while meeting global certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of electronics design or sustaining engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Update in-market circuit designs to address obsolescence, substitutions, second-source requests, and post-launch improvements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and manufacturing to own electronics sustainment through the post-launch lifecycle.
• Perform bench verification and evaluation of components and circuits using lab equipment.
• Hands-on debug, failure analysis, and rework of electronic systems.
• Use OrCAD Capture and related tools to update embedded mixed-signal designs.
• Collaborate with PCB design engineers to define and release PCB layout updates (Allegro or similar).
• Test RF performance of wireless subsystems (cellular, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS) in in-market products.
• Develop test methods, execute verification, and drive test plans for design changes.
• Document design changes, test results, and conclusions for teams and management.
• Provide hardware support to regulatory compliance teams (FCC, IC, CE, PTCRB).
• Update, review, and finalize BOMs and design documentation for engineering changes and production release.
