Job summary

Axon in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Firmware Validation Engineer I to join a high‑impact engineering team. You’ll own testing for embedded devices and help shape test strategy across firmware, software, and hardware, delivering quality releases on schedule.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, review plans, and drive test tooling and coverage improvements while supporting go/no-go decisions to protect life through reliable public safety products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software, firmware, or hardware quality assurance / validation engineering.
• Experience with embedded or connected-device products (firmware and hardware-software integration).
• Hands-on experience with test case design and automated testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own release regression testing (manual and automated) for features and related areas.
• Design and maintain test strategy and traceability from requirements to test cases.
• Collaborate with engineering to cover gaps and drive robust testing.
• Investigate defects, document findings, and support bug triage with evidence.
• Lead release-readiness reporting with quality metrics and risk analysis.
• Identify and drive test tooling and process improvements to increase coverage.
• Coordinate with Eng, PM/TPM, and hardware/RF labs to resolve blockers.
• Manage multiple test cycles and releases with prioritization.
