Job summary

ABB seeks a VFD Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to customers, field techs, and internal teams. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and assist with drive programming and integration, while logging cases in Salesforce.

The role is hybrid in New Berlin, WI with US remote options, requiring strong knowledge of Low Voltage VFDs and effective English communication. You will collaborate across engineering, service, sales and product teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years electrical/technical experience, or an associate's with 6+ years, or high school with 8+ years.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work (REQUIRED).
• Strong understanding of electricity principles and troubleshooting drives.
• English communications skills; computer-literate.
• US work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone & email for Low Voltage VFDs, assisting with commissioning, troubleshooting, and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with the warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorization for warranty repairs.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases using Salesforce Case Management.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
