Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a Sonographer to provide ultrasound support for VEG hospitals and training facilities. You will work closely with emergency doctors to deliver same-day ultrasound scans for pets, while coordinating education opportunities and ultrasound training across home and regional hospitals.

The role emphasizes teaching, mentorship, and ongoing development of VEG ultrasound programs, with opportunities to travel to regional facilities and contribute to curriculum

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician or RDMS or equivalent.
• 3+ years veterinary ultrasound experience.
• Previous training experience and the patience to teach and develop doctors, nurses, and fellow sonographers.
• Comfortable mentoring others and giving/receiving feedback from colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate ultrasound training at your home hospital and regional hospitals.
• Maintain relationships with teleconsultation radiologists (Antech, SonoPath, IDEXX, VetsChoice).
• Ensure training content aligns with VEG culture, mission, and up-to-date techniques.
• Track doctor and nursing team skills with a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist.
• Engage in program evaluation to improve VEG ultrasound training programs.
• Meet with medical directors and hospital leadership to discuss program development and needs.
