Job summary

VEG is seeking a Sonographer to provide ultrasound support for VEG hospitals and training facilities. You will work closely with emergency doctors to deliver same-day scans for pets and coordinate ultrasound training across home and regional hospitals.

You will mentor colleagues, develop curriculum materials, and participate in ongoing VEG ultrasound education and program development. Some travel to regional sites is required.

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT/LVMT) or equivalent ultrasound credential.
• 3+ years veterinary ultrasound experience.
• Previous training experience and ability to teach doctors, nurses, and fellow sonographers.
• Comfortable mentoring others and giving/receiving feedback.
• Must be able to travel to regional hospitals for off-site training.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate ultrasound training at home and regional hospitals.
• Maintain relationships with teleconsultation radiologists (Antech, SonoPath, IDEXX, VetsChoice).
• Ensure training content aligns with VEG culture and up-to-date techniques.
• Track skills with VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist.
• Participate in program development and training objectives with leadership.
