Job summary

VEG is seeking a Sonographer to provide ultrasound support for VEG hospitals and training facilities. You will work closely with emergency doctors to deliver same-day scans for a variety of pets and coordinate ultrasound education across home and regional hospitals.

You will mentor peers, build curricula, and help expand training opportunities, traveling to regional sites as needed and staying aligned with VEG's mission and culture.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician with ultrasound proficiency.
• Experience with diagnostic medical sonography (RDMS) or equivalent.
• Ability to train clinicians and staff in ultrasound techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate ultrasound training at home and regional hospitals.
• Maintain relationships with teleconsultation radiologists for feedback on studies.
• Ensure training content aligns with VEG culture and up-to-date techniques.
• Track skills using a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist.
• Contribute to program evaluation and ongoing training improvements.
• Meet with medical directors and radiology education leaders to discuss objectives.
• Coordinate weekly schedules with hospital management for training coverage.
• Assist in developing ultrasound curriculum materials (PowerPoints, videos, simulations).
• Provide educational demonstrations on ultrasound topics across VEG facilities.
