Job summary

VEG is seeking a Sonographer to provide ultrasound support for VEG hospitals and training facilities. You will work with emergency doctors to deliver same-day scans, handle diverse cases, and aid in coordinating ultrasound education for home and regional hospitals.

You will mentor others, develop training materials, and help expand VEG’s ultrasound training programs while traveling to regional sites as needed. Compensation includes base pay, benefits, and growth opportunities within VEG.

Qualifications

  • Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT/LVMT), diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS), and/or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years veterinary ultrasound experience.
  • Previous training experience and the patience to teach and develop doctors, nurses, and fellow sonographers.
  • Comfortable mentoring others and giving/receiving feedback from colleagues.
  • Desire to travel to regional hospitals and off-site training facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate ultrasound training at your home hospital and regional hospitals.
  • Maintain relationships with teleconsultation radiologists reading your studies.
  • Ensure training content aligns with VEG culture, mission, and up-to-date techniques.
  • Track doctor and nursing team skills with a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist.
  • Engage in program evaluation to improve VEG's ultrasound training programs.
  • Meet with medical directors, nursing trainer, and director of radiology education to discuss objectives.
  • Coordinate weekly schedules with hospital manager and director of radiology education for training responsibilities.
  • Develop ultrasound curriculum materials such as PowerPoints, videos, and assessments.
  • Provide educational demonstrations on ultrasound topics across VEGs.
