Job summary

Small Door Veterinary is seeking a Veterinary Technician Recruiter to partner with markets across the Mid-Atlantic region. You’ll build relationships with veterinary technicians and other roles, shape talent strategies, and plan for new practice openings, while maintaining brand standards and candidate enthusiasm.

You’ll own the end-to-end hiring process, use data to drive decisions, and travel up to 20% to clinics and events to grow referral networks and meet hiring goals.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience (3+ years preferred).
• Track record of full-cycle recruiting, veterinary recruiting preferred.
• Proven success recruiting scarce, passive clinical talent and keeping candidates engaged over long timelines.
• Strong sourcing skills (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, etc.).
• Solid understanding of medical terminology (animal or human).
• Relationship-driven, resourceful, self-directed, and able to travel.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Travel up to 10–20%.

Responsibilities

• Be the main recruiting partner for veterinary technicians in assigned markets; visit clinics and priority markets.
• Own the full hiring process from outreach to offer letter.
• Reach passive candidates via direct outreach, networking, job boards, and social media.
• Coordinate on-site interviews and prepare clinic leaders.
• Maintain a pipeline and engage the veterinary community through schools, associations, and events.
• Forecast needs with regional leaders and understand skills required for each role.
• Keep accurate candidate records and provide market insights in real time.
• Develop and refine consistent hiring practices across markets.
• Collaborate with other recruiters to meet every hiring need.
