Small Door Veterinary is seeking a Veterinary Technician Recruiter to partner with markets across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest; you’ll build relationships with veterinary technicians and plan for new openings while preserving quality, culture, and candidate enthusiasm.

You’ll own the full hiring process, engage passive candidates, and collaborate with regional leaders to forecast needs. This role requires travel and a commitment to building trusted networks in person.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience (3+ years preferred).
• Track record of full cycle recruiting (veterinary recruiting preferred).
• Proven success recruiting scarce, passive clinical talent and keeping candidates engaged over long timelines.
• Strong sourcing skills (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, etc.).
• Solid understanding of medical terminology (animal or human).
• Relationship‑driven, resourceful, self‑directed, and excited to travel and build trust in person.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Ability to travel up to 10–20%.

Responsibilities

• Be the main recruiting partner for veterinary technicians in your assigned markets. Travel to clinics and priority markets to meet candidates, learn about local talent, and grow referral networks.
• Own the full hiring process. Manage all candidate communication from first outreach to offer letter.
• Reach passive candidates through direct outreach, industry networking, job boards, and social media.
• Coordinate on-site interviews and ensure clinic leaders are prepared ahead of time, so every candidate feels expected and welcomed.
• Maintain an ongoing pipeline by engaging the veterinary community and attending events and conferences.
• Forecast needs with field leaders to understand skills and coverage gaps across markets.
• Capture conversations and feedback to provide real‑time pipeline health and market insights.
• Help create and refine consistent hiring practices across markets.
• Collaborate with other recruiters to meet every hiring need.
• Build pipelines 3–6 months before new practice openings and expect vacancies.
