Job summary

Small Door Veterinary is seeking a Veterinary Technician Recruiter to partner with markets for hiring veterinary technicians and other roles. You will plan talent pipelines, manage full-cycle recruitment, and engage the veterinary community through targeted outreach, events, and networking.

You’ll collaborate with field leaders to forecast needs and ensure timely, quality hires, while keeping candidate records current in our ATS and maintaining a positive candidate experience across all stages.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience (3+ years preferred)
• Track record of full-cycle recruiting, veterinary recruiting preferred
• Proven success recruiting scarce, passive clinical talent
• Strong sourcing skills (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, etc.)
• Solid understanding of medical terminology (animal or human)
• Relationship-driven, travel-ready, and able to build trust in person
• Bachelor's degree required
• Ability to travel up to 10-20%

Responsibilities

• Be the main recruiting partner for veterinary technicians in your assigned markets. Travel to clinics and priority markets to meet candidates, learn about local talent, and grow referral networks.
• Own the full hiring process. Manage all candidate communication from first outreach to offer letter.
• Reach passive candidates through direct outreach, industry networking, job boards, and social media.
• Coordinate on-site interviews and prepare clinic leaders ahead of time.
• Keep a pipeline that’s always on. Build relationships with veterinary schools, alumni networks, and associations.
• Forecast needs with field leaders and understand required skills for each role.
• Maintain up-to-date candidate records and pipeline health in the ATS.
• Collaborate with other recruiters to meet every hiring need.
• Pipelines are built 3–6 months before openings to reduce vacancy risk.
• Ensure warm, personal candidate experiences reflecting the brand.
