Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health in Waukesha, WI is seeking a veterinary nurse to join WVRC Waukesha's emergency and critical care team. You will provide general nursing care, assist doctors during surgery, monitor anesthesia, and communicate with clients.

This role requires at least two years in a veterinary hospital, experience with restraint, phlebotomy and catheter placement, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. CVT preferred; strong teamwork and patient care passion are essential.

Qualifications

  • Two years of technical experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
  • Experience with restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement, and general nursing care.
  • Ideally, experience with anesthesia monitoring and recovery, sterile scrub, and assisting with surgical procedures.
  • The ability to lift and restrain patients up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach, a commitment to patient care, and a passion for veterinary medicine.
  • CVT preferred but not required!

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery using equipment such as EKG, SpO₂, and Doppler monitors, and perform sterile scrub as needed.
  • Communicate with clients by phone and in person, answering questions, providing updates on their pet’s condition, and following up after visits.
  • Explain complex neurological conditions with compassion, patience, and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and build lasting relationships with clients and the community.

Schedule:

Full Time | 1st Shift | 4 Ten Hour Shifts Per Week | No Weekends and No On Call!

Compensation:

$25/hr + Dependent On Experience

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will
