Job summary

WVRC Waukesha, a 24/7 emergency and specialty animal hospital, is seeking a Veterinary Technician, Emergency. This full-time role offers $21/hr and up, plus a $1500 signing bonus for CVTs, and a $3/hr shift differential for evenings.

Four 9- to 10-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend and some holidays. You will triage, assist with trauma and diagnostics, monitor anesthesia, and work closely with veterinarians and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• CVT licensure is required OR eligible to obtain license within 9 months.
• At least 1 year of technician experience (ER experience a plus)
• Comfortable with restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing care
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and assist with trauma assessments and emergency stabilization.
• Perform diagnostics, nursing care, drug calculations, and monitoring anesthesia as needed.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians and support staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Support the health and wellbeing of pets by performing proficient patient triage, speedy trauma assessments, extensive diagnostics, emergency patient stabilization, and in-depth patient care
• Utilize your technical skill sets by executing tasks such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement, general nursing care, drug calculations from fluid rates to CRIs, in addition to monitoring general anesthesia and more!
• Work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians and support teams
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture
