Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health—WVRC Waukesha is seeking a Veterinary Technician, Neurology to join a 24/7 level I facility. The role offers a full-time schedule with 4 ten-hour shifts, no weekends or on-call, and a starting compensation of $25/hr plus experience-based adjustments.

You will provide nursing care, assist with surgeries, monitor anesthesia, and communicate with clients about neurological conditions, while growing with a collaborative emergency and specialty team.

Qualifications

• Two years of technical experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
• Experience with restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement, and general nursing care.
• Ideally experience with anesthesia monitoring and recovery, sterile scrub, and assisting with surgical procedures.
• Ability to lift and restrain patients up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• A collaborative approach and passion for veterinary medicine.
• CVT preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care, including patient restraint, phlebotomy, and catheter placement.
• Advocate for patients and assist doctors during surgical procedures.
• Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery using EKG, SpO₂, and Doppler monitors; perform sterile scrub as needed.
• Communicate with clients by phone and in person, giving updates on their pet’s condition and following up after visits.
• Explain complex neurological conditions with compassion, patience, and professionalism.
• Collaborate with colleagues and build lasting relationships with clients and the community.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will:
