Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc. is hiring a Veterinary Technician to support Vetco Total Care patients and provide excellent customer care to pet owners.

You will work under veterinarians and Hospital Leader on Duty to ensure high-quality patient care and cohesive team performance. Responsibilities include assisting with exams and procedures, maintaining medical records, educating clients, and contributing to a clean, efficient hospital environment.

Qualifications

• College- or college-equivalent education required for credentialed veterinary technician.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Must be compassionate and maintain professionalism in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, record vitals, and document visit in EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, collect lab samples, and administer medications per vet direction.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, update records, and manage accounts receivable.
