Job summary

Petco is seeking a Veterinary Technician to provide high-quality veterinary care for Vetco Total Care patients and outstanding support to pet owners. The position emphasizes compassionate client service and teamwork within a hospital environment.

Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians, handling exams and procedures, maintaining patient records, and supporting anesthesia, imaging, and postoperative care as needed. A credentialed tech with clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed college or college-equivalent education and be credentialed as a Veterinary Technician.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as Veterinary Technician.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients entering for appointments or walk-ins and record vital signs in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with routine and emergency appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Restrain patients, process laboratory samples, dispense medications, and maintain EMR records.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, manage records and accounts receivable.
