Job summary

Hickory Pet Inn/COVE Animal Health in Plymouth Meeting, PA, is seeking a Veterinary Technician - General Practice. The role involves assisting veterinarians with exams, anesthesia monitoring, lab work and client education.

You’ll work four 10-hour shifts with one weekend day per week, and start at $18.00/hour, with a $2,000 retention bonus. CVT/LVT/RVT licensure is preferred, along with a solid understanding of veterinary terminology, medications, and disease processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient records and assist with case management.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and technicians to ensure comprehensive care.

What You’ll Do

• Assisting veterinarians with routine general practice procedures: exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement
• Support with patient intake, client communication, and education on treatments
• Preparing patients for appointments, including reviewing and interpreting bloodwork, medical history, and diagnostics
• Administering and monitoring medications, ensuring safe and accurate patient care
• Communicating effectively and empathetically with clients during consultations, discharges, and follow-up updates
• Maintaining accurate patient records and supporting seamless case management
• Collaborating closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Supporting other hospital teams as needed once duties are complete
