Job summary

COVE Animal Health in Ambler, PA is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant for General Practice. The role supports veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement.

You will assist with client communication and educate families on treatments. The position requires strong teamwork, efficient prioritization, and dedication to patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with routine general practice procedures: exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement.
• Support with patient intake, client communication, and education on treatments.
• Prepare patients for appointments, including reviewing and interpreting bloodwork, medical history, and diagnostics.
• Administer and monitor medications, ensuring safe and accurate patient care.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients during consultations, discharges, and follow-up updates.
• Maintain accurate patient records and support seamless case management.
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support other hospital teams as needed once duties are complete.

What You'll Do
