Job summary

Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital in Plymouth Meeting, PA is seeking a Veterinary Technician - General Practice to join our collaborative team. You will assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory work, and client education while delivering compassionate care.

We offer a full-time schedule of four 10-hour shifts with one weekend day per week, starting at $18.00 per hour, with benefits including education assistance, PTO, health coverage, a 401(k) plan,

Qualifications

• CVT/LVT/RVT licensure preferred.
• Solid understanding of veterinary terminology, medications, and disease processes.
• Strong communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
• Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to providing exceptional patient and client care.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians with routine general practice procedures: exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement
• Support with patient intake, client communication, and education on treatments
• Preparing patients for appointments, including reviewing and interpreting bloodwork, medical history, and diagnostics
• Administering and monitoring medications, ensuring safe and accurate patient care
• Communicating effectively and empathetically with clients during consultations, discharges, and follow-up updates
• Maintaining accurate patient records and supporting seamless case management
• Collaborating closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Supporting other hospital teams as needed once duties are complete

What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary Technician - General Practice at Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital, you will be an essential part of our team. Your responsibilities will include:

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full-time position with the following schedule:

Compensation

• Starting at $18.00/hour, commensurate with experience and licensure
