Metropolitan Veterinary Associates, Inc in Ambler, PA is hiring a Veterinary Technician Assistant - General Practice for full-time work. Starting at $18/hr with a $1,000 sign-on bonus plus a $1,000 retention bonus; schedule Tue 8a-7p, Thu 8a-7p, Fri 8a-5p and Sat 8a-1p.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting veterinarians with routine general practice procedures.
• Strong communication skills for client education.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement.
• Support with patient intake, client communication, and education on treatments.
• Prepare patients for appointments, including reviewing medical history and diagnostics.
• Administer and monitor medications, ensuring safe and accurate patient care.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients during consultations, discharges, and follow-up updates.
• Maintain accurate patient records and supporting seamless case management.
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.

What You’ll Do

• Assisting veterinarians with routine general practice procedures: exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement
• Support with patient intake, client communication, and education on treatments
• Preparing patients for appointments, including reviewing and interpreting bloodwork, medical history, and diagnostics
• Administering and monitoring medications, ensuring safe and accurate patient care
• Communicating effectively and empathetically with clients during consultations, discharges, and follow-up updates
• Maintaining accurate patient records and supporting seamless case management
• Collaborating closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Supporting other hospital teams as needed once duties are complete
