Hickory Veterinary Primary Care in Ambler, PA is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant for general practice. This full-time role supports veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture and catheter placement, medication administration, and client education.

You will assist with patient intake, medical history review, and interpreting tests, while maintaining accurate records and collaborating with the team for comprehensive care. Generous benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a veterinary technician is preferred.
• Solid understanding of veterinary terminology, medications and disease processes.
• Strong communication for client education and team collaboration.
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians with routine general practice procedures exams diagnostics anesthesia monitoring lab work venipuncture and catheter placement
• Support with patient intake client communication and education on treatments
• Preparing patients for appointments including reviewing and interpreting bloodwork medical history and diagnostics
• Administering and monitoring medications ensuring safe and accurate patient care
• Communicating effectively and empathetically with clients during consultations discharges and follow up updates
• Maintaining accurate patient records and supporting seamless case management
• Collaborating closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Supporting other hospital teams as needed once duties are complete

What Youll Do
